Toyota has already done to the Prius cars sold in late January to lift, but still no instructions to people who bought them, "said Hiroyuki Knight, manager of the dealership. Prius latest model hit showrooms in May last year.

"It's disappointing, because the Prius has received such rave reviews," he said.

Toyota, which must report quarterly earnings later Thursday, said he would explain the Prius brake problems. Details were not immediately available to Toyota, which was in the works for the Prius cars sold in the U.S. and Europe.

Prius, the best in the world selling hybrid, is extremely popular in Japan because the government incentives that have made hybrids are taxed. More than 170,000 new cars were rebuilt Prius sold in Japan and about 103,000 were sold in the U.S. since May

Ministry of Transport of Japan has ordered a campaign to the complaints of the brake problems to examine a hybrid. Lahoud said that the U. S. Department of Transportation was also studying the problem of the brakes.

"We ask Toyota for the issue, including possible solutions for the Prius recall studies," Minister of Transport Seyzhi Maehara said.

Company representatives repeatedly said that cars in Japan were not covered by the French overseas recalled because they used a Japanese supplier Denso, suggests the largest car manufacturers in the world would do better to maintain quality control in Japan.

All cars with the Prius reportedly possible brake problems were manufactured in Japan.

"The last problem really damaged Toyota Prius. Uncertainty about the problem of the Prius will only prompt more consumers to dump Toyota said Roichi Site, auto analyst ° Mizuho Investors Securities in Tokyo.

Prius owners were worried.

Akira Suzuki, 25, who makes surfboards and education, surfing, was enthusiastic about the high mileage they recently bought a Prius offers - but concerned about the potential problems.

"I'm not sure how safe it is. I intend to manage very carefully," said Suzuki, who lives in a suburb of Tokyo.

Toyota said Thursday it was aware of 77 complaints in Japan, braking problems on the Prius - just one days after the Japanese government has confirmed 14 complaints. Almost 100 complaints with the brakes on the Prius are filed in the U.S.

In the United States, plagued by dealers began with spare parts for repair defective throttle to the millions of cars and said they would extend their hours until late into the night to try to catch up. Toyota says that this problem - which he said was very rare - from cars unexplained acceleration.

At a hearing in Congress, LaHood said his advice to the owner Toyota recalled to stop driving. Take her Toyota dealer because they think they have a fix. His comments led to new questions and knocked Toyota shareholders, resulting in shares diving 6 percent overnight on Wall Street.

Lahoud told reporters later: "What I have said, there are clearly forged. What I meant was ... if you own one of these machines, or if in doubt, take it to the dealer and they will correct the problem.

Adding to the problems of Toyota, "Lahoud said his department received new complaints about electronics and provides a broad overview, looking for cars, Toyota, the car engine, or may be affected by electromagnetic interference caused by power lines or other sources.

Toyota said that the investigation of the electronic problem and could not find a single case appeared in this direction. Toyota declined to comment on Lahoud's comments.

But the damage has caused many drivers.

Meredyth Waterman, who bought a Toyota Corolla in December 2010, said the alarming statements from Washington to confuse her, and she decided to wait until the dealer told her to come get the patch to bring your car in for repair.

"If it is largely regarded as a rare example, why would he tell people to stop driving their cars? Asked Waterman, to Burrillville, RI" It was an irresponsible thing to say.

Toyota is set to face further questioning by the U. S. Congress and other public research institutions. Toyota closed a number of new assembly lines and parts dealers rushing to problems with the throttle to set, try to preserve the reputation of building safe, durable machines.

Late last year, Toyota recalled about 5 million vehicles over problems with the accelerator pad fall and January 21, recalled about 2.3 million vehicles in the United States amid concerns that the gas pedal may be delayed or slow to return return to the idle position.
